Emily is a solicitor in our Employment and HR Services team. She regularly assists senior lawyers on complex and high-value employment tribunal claims. Emily has gained extensive experience in a range of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters since joining the employment team.
Emily has assisted senior lawyers with the successful defence of complex and high-value employment tribunal claims including claims of constructive unfair dismissal, unfair dismissal, discrimination and whistleblowing.
Emily has also delivered numerous training sessions and seminars to clients and delegates on a range of matters including employment law updates, equality and diversity, hybrid working, COVID-19 related changes/issues and gender identity.
She has experience of working with a variety of clients across a wide range of employment and HR matters, including employment tribunal litigation, unfair and wrongful dismissal, Equality Act 2010, settlement agreements, day to day HR support including disciplinary, grievance and absence management matters and investigations. She also has experience of drafting and reviewing employment contracts, staff handbooks and policies.
Emily commenced her training contract with Hugh James in September 2019, obtaining experience in the industrial disease department, before joining the employment department in March 2018 which is where she remained until she qualified in July 2020.
