Cari Sowden-Taylor speaking at the brain injury conferenceHugh James hosted a successful Spinal Cord Injury Conference on Tuesday 13 June 2017 at the Copthorne Hotel, Cardiff.

Delegates travelled the length and breadth of the UK to hear a variety of talks from experts in the field of spinal cord injury.

Fascinating talks regarding the categorisation of pressure ulcers, exoskeletons, aquatic therapy and welfare benefits were well received and an excellent welcome was given to one of the most eminent spinal surgeons, Mr Brian Gardner who spoke about the effects of spinal cord injury on sexual function.

Robert Weir QC provided an entertaining explanation of what can and can’t be recovered for spinal cord injury claimants and the day was rounded off with an inspiring talk about vocational rehabilitation from Dave Bracher of the SIA.

Cari Sowden-Taylor who chaired the day stated “we thoroughly enjoy hosting these events and it is great to see specialists working in spinal cord injury coming together to share their experience and knowledge. The feedback from the event has been extremely positive and we look forward to hosting our next event in a couple of years”.
