Advising on construction contracts including consultants' appointments and collateral warranties. Advising insurers in relation to subrogated recovery actions across the spectrum of perils including fire, flood, impact and escape of water.
Advising insurers on Consumer Protection Act issues arising from fires caused by electrical appliances including multiple claims relating to major electrical manufacturers – numerous £100,000 plus actions.
Successfully representing insurers in relation to a claim involving a fire in a domestic property causing damage valued at in excess of £800,000. Successfully representing insurers in relation to property flooding causing damage exceeding £400,000.
Successfully representing insurers in relation to a claim involving an electricity supplier in respect of fire – value of claim in excess of £70,000.
Providing ad hoc advice to insurers in relation to claims dealt with in-house.
