Phoebe joined Hugh James in March 2021 and is a Senior Associate in the specialist Asbestos team. She is an APIL Accredited Asbestos Disease and Occupational Disease Specialist. As a fierce litigator with industrial disease litigation experience dating back to 2003, Phoebe prides herself on her ability to work tirelessly to secure justice for her clients.
Phoebe is based in Cambridge and supports clients across the East of England, offering home visits to assist with civil legal claims and government benefit applications. Alongside her legal work, Phoebe dedicates a significant amount of time in supporting patients and families in the region, and she is Chair of the East of England Asbestos Patient Support Group EEA-PSG, which holds monthly meetings in Norfolk and Suffolk. She has worked closely with Brian Wallis, Mesothelioma UK Ambassador since 2016 and has chaired both the Anglia Asbestos Disease Support Group AADSG from 2016-2021 which he founded and she is now the newly appointed Chair of his brand new group, EEA-PSG which was launched in March 2021.
In recent years Phoebe has secured future immunotherapy and other non-NHS private medical treatment costs for her clients and seeks to settle claims expeditiously. She continues to recover hospice fees for local hospices and is an active supporter of many local charities in the East Anglia region where she grew up. Phoebe seeks to raise awareness for those affected by asbestos, via her social media presence, she also regularly features in the press and local radio including, ITV and BBC Radio Norfolk. Phoebe was social secretary of the Cambridge Law Society 2014-2020, and Vice President in 2018-2019.
After studying law at Nottingham Trent University, Phoebe joined Thomas Eggar in 2009 and completed her training contract. In 2013, she moved to Irwin Mitchell, before joining Ashtons Legal in 2016. There, she singlehandedly set up and managed the specialist Asbestos Disease team in Cambridge.
