Joy specialises in applications to the Court of Protection for statutory wills and other property and affair issues. She assists with providing professional deputy input to those who lack the necessary capacity to manage and administer their own finances. In addition, Joy manages the running of our ongoing professional personal injury trust files.

In 2009 Joy commenced her career in Secure Law, Cardiff, specialising in personal injury matters. She continued to gain experience in Glaisyers Solicitors in Manchester until 2011 and thereafter, she specialised in clinical negligence claims and undertook her training at Harding Evans Solicitors, Newport.

Joy qualified in 2016 and joined Hugh James in the Contested Wills, Trusts and Estates Department. Joy advised individual’s, banks, trust companies and professionals in relation to statutory will applications, contested wills, trusts and estates disputes including Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act Claims, probate and estate administration disputes, trust disputes, will disputes and disputed Court of Protection matters. Joy then transferred to the Neurolaw Department in 2018.

Joy is a member of the National Court of Protection Practitioners Association, CoPPA and is also an associate member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists, ACTAPS and an associate member of the Solicitors for the Elderly.

What do you like to do outside work?

Joy enjoys running and ran the London Marathon last year. Diversity is something that Joy enjoys most about her role as a solicitor.
