Alena is a Chartered Financial Planner who joined Hugh James in May 2023.

Alena is experienced in all major areas of personal finance, including investments, pensions, estate planning, and protection strategies. Her proficiency extends to working with vulnerable clients and those in long-term care settings.

During the lockdown period, she pursued an Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning while balancing her work responsibilities. Subsequently, Alena completed her studies, culminating in the attainment of a Master of Finance degree and the esteemed Fellowship of Personal Finance Society (the highest level of qualification available for a financial adviser).

Recognised for her academic excellence, Alena was honoured with two awards from the Bristol Insurance Institute for achieving the highest regional scores on the advanced diploma and fellowship exams.

With her academic pursuits now concluded, Alena is fully dedicated to her role at Hugh James, where she is committed to cultivating enduring relationships with clients and colleagues alike.

Notably, it’s her passion for sustainable finance that truly sets her apart. Alena’s master’s dissertation on sustainable advice earned accolades at the University of Gloucestershire, and she was honoured as Woman of the Year in ESG advice by Professional Adviser in 2022 for her contributions in this field.
