What do you like to do outside work?

I enjoy running; I have completed several half marathons although cannot profess to do them very quickly. I am hoping one day to do one in less than 2 hours.

I am chair of governors of a federation of two primary schools, and I am also a parent governor at a secondary academy. I have been involved in many aspects of governance in this role from head and deputy head recruitment and safeguarding to dealing with OFSTED inspections and now working with a school to bring it out of RI status. These roles give me the opportunity to develop many skills and meet lots of interesting people which I thoroughly enjoy.

I am proud to say I am a member of the campaign for real ale and have been active in keeping my local pub alive. (Not just by purchasing pints of beer, but also by assisting with an application for it to be listed as an asset of community value!)

I have three children too so life is pretty full.
