Hugh James named as a finalist in three categories for Personal Injury Awards 2019

Hugh James has been named a finalist in three categories for the Personal Injury Awards 2019. The firm has been shortlisted for Clinical Negligence Team of the Year, Claimant Team of the Year and Outstanding Case of the Year.

Hugh James is a top 100 law firm and has nationally renowned practices in clinical negligence, catastrophic and general injury claims, as well as expertise in running large group actions for industrial disease, product liability and environmental claims.

Stephen Webber, Head of Individual Client Services said: “Hugh James has one of the leading claimant teams in the UK and we are so pleased that the team has been recognised by being shortlisted for these awards. Our team of nationally renowned experts works tirelessly for these clients to achieve the best results possible. This year has been another exceptional one with successful group action cases, settlement of cutting edge asbestos claims providing private medical treatment not available on the NHS, a hearing in the Supreme Court, precedent-setting military deafness judgement allowing soldiers to recover future loss of earnings which will help a large numbers of soldiers in their future claims and numerous multi-million pound settlements.”

Mari Rosser, Head of Medical Negligence said: “We are delighted to be nominated for this prestigious award. The team has been representing victims of medical accidents throughout the UK for in excess of three decades. We hope that the skills and experience we have developed over this period has helped us to deliver the outstanding service which our seriously injured clients deserve. This area of law continues to face huge challenges as a result of policy changes. Hugh James will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that the patient’s interests are served in the face of those changes.”

Simon Ellis, Head of the Military Team said: “I am delighted we have been nominated for this award. Hearing loss is a huge problem for many within the military and doesn’t receive the attention it deserves. This case was hugely important for Mr Inglis as it addressed the long term financial implications he faced through his hearing difficulties. It has wider implications for the veteran community at large. I hope this nomination helps to highlight the problems our veterans can face through injuries suffered in service to our country.”

The Personal Injury awards take place on 27th November 2019 at Hilton Deansgate, Manchester.
